A Compassionate Leader with Extensive Experience in Pediatric Care

A prominent pediatrician, Dr. Mackie-Lee sees patients at Milestones in Gainesville, Virginia. With a wealth of experience in various pediatric care settings, she brings a unique blend of expertise and compassion to her practice.

A proud alumna of The George Washington University, she completed her medical education in 1995, followed by internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital. Her deep-rooted connection to the medical field is evident from her upbringing, as she was born at GW Hospital while her mother served as a medical school professor there.

Raised in the DC Metro area, Dr. Mackie-Lee’s passion for pediatrics was ignited by her own pediatrician, the late Dr. Beale Ong, whose impact inspired her to pursue a career in pediatric care. Throughout her professional journey, she has collaborated with esteemed colleagues like Dr. Shinaishin and Briony Peachey CPNP at Prince William Hospital, further enriching her expertise in the field.

Prior to her tenure at Milestones, she dedicated several years to serving the community as a pediatrician in the Emergency Department, Well Baby, and Inpatient units of Novant UVA Prince William and Haymarket Hospitals. Her commitment to excellence was further highlighted by her ten-year tenure as Chairman of the Pediatric Department and Director of Pediatric Hospitalists at these institutions.

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Mackie-Lee finds joy in supporting her husband’s venture, Mackie’s Bar & Grill in Old Town Alexandria, where they call home. Her dedication to both her patients and her community is a testament to her unwavering commitment to holistic healthcare.
