A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Pedram Ilbeigi, DO, FACS is a board-certified urologist currently serving patients at Urologic Institute of High Desert located in California. Founded by Dr. Pedram Ilbeigi and Dr. V.C. Reddy, The Urologic Institute of High Desert is the first and only Center for Robotic surgery in the High Desert community. With over 700 cases performed to date, the Center remains committed to providing minimally invasive alternatives for patients’ urologic needs. Dr. Ilbeigi was recruited by St. Mary Medical Center to initiate the High Desert’s first and only Robotic Surgical Program. Additionally, he is the Medical Director of the Valley Urologic Medical Group, located in Rancho Mirage, California. Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Ilbeigi served as the Director of Laparoscopy and Robotics at the New Jersey Urologic Institute from 2006 to 2008. He is also the former Associate Director of Urologic Oncology at St. Michael’s Medical Center in New Jersey. To begin his career, Dr. Ilbeigi attended the University of California, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Physiology in 1995. A year later, he went on to complete his Master of Science degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Wanting to further his education, he earned his PhD from A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. Thereafter, he attended the surgical residency program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey followed by his urology, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery training at Hackensack University Medical Center and the New Jersey Medical School. To date, he remains affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in California, including JFK Memorial Hospital, Eisenhower Medical Center, and Desert Regional Medical Center. Furthermore, Dr. Ilbeigi holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the Engineering and Urology Society, the Urology Society of New Jersey, the New York Section of the American Urologic Association, and the American Association of Clinical Urologists. Among his various achievements, Dr. Ilbeigi was named the Praecis Gerard P. Murphy Scholar for Urologic Cancer Research in 2004 and 2006. He was also the recipient of the Outstanding Laparoscopic Surgeon Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons in 2005. Additionally, he has been nationally recognized for numerous publications and educational video productions involving complex laparoscopic kidney and adrenal surgery, robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy, and laparoscopic pyeloplasty with concomitant renal stone management. s a urologist, Dr. Ilbeigi has considerable experience in general adult and pediatric urology, urologic malignancies, and female urology. Founded by Dr. Pedram Ilbeigi & Dr. V.C. Reddy, The Urologic Institute of High Desert is the first and only Center for Robotic surgery in the High Desert community. In his current capacity, he is also the Medical Director of the Valley Urologic Medical Group, located in Rancho Mirage, California. As independent urologists with highly specialized training, Valley Urologic Medical Group provides university-level care in a community setting. This unique center of urologic services is unlike any other in the region. All members are young yet seasoned doctors whose education, experience, and devotion to their practice and their patients have set them apart as outstanding leaders in their field.
Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Ilbeigi served as the Director of Laparoscopy and Robotics at the New Jersey Urologic Institute (07/06-10/08). He is also the former Associate Director of Urologic Oncology at St. Michael’s Medical center in Newark, New Jersey. To date, he remains affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers in California, including JFK Memorial Hospital, Eisenhower Medical Center, and Desert Regional Medical Center.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists and working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care.
