Get to know Anesthesiologist Dr. Brian S. Philip, who serves patients in Suffern, New York.

A trusted anesthesiologist, Dr. Philip has been in practice with Ramapo Anesthesiologists, P.C. in Suffern, New York since June of 2010. He manages patient pain levels before, during, and after surgical procedures. 

Since the 1970s, Ramapo Anesthesiologists, P.C. has been a premier choice for anesthesia services. A 2006 graduate of Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University, Dr. Philip went on to perform his internship and residency in anesthesiology at Stony Brook University Hospital in 2007 and 2010, respectively. 

As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology.

Licensed to practice medicine in New York and New Jersey, Dr. Philip is affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital, Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Callicoon Campus, Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Harris Campus, Hudson Regional Hospital, and St. Mary’s General Hospital.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

Outside of practicing medicine, one of Dr. Philip’s hobbies include singing.
