  • I have twisted my ankle on a walk and don't know how to fix it?

If it's not feeling better you should see your doctor to make sure it's not broken. Ankle sprains typically need a period of stabilization and rehabilitation depending on the severity. Ice and anti-inflammatory treatment helps for the first few days. See your doctor to get a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. READ MORE

  • Will toenail fungus go away on its own?

Fungus is an opportunistic organism and will rarely go away on its own. It's best to speak with your doctor about treatment options. READ MORE

  • My right foot has been hurting, what could it be?

You may have plantar fasciitis, and inflammation which can progress to degeneration of the fibers connecting the heel to the ball of the foot. Ice massage may help, but you should see your podiatrist for evaluation and treatment plan READ MORE

  • How can I treat an ingrown toenail?

You may soak it in warm salt water 20 mins 2-3 times daily, but if it gets worse or does not improve, you should see your podiatrist READ MORE

  • What are the symptoms of a bunion?

Bunions are genetic changes in the foot resulting in a growth of bone and widening of the front of the foot by the great toe joint. This can become painful and make shoes difficult to wear. READ MORE

  • How can I treat an ankle that hurts?

You may have injured the ligaments around the ankle, which give it stability. Or you may have stretched the tendons, which connect muscles to bone, and also give the ankle stability. Usually rest, compression, ice, anti-inflammatory creams and pills will help. If it gets worse, or is not improving after a week of rest, see your doc. READ MORE

  • What causes toenails to be thick and yellow?

You may have a nail fungus infection, and or the nail plate may be damaged. See your doc for a diagnosis and treatment plan. I've found Tolcylen Ointment to be very effective for these conditions, along with proper foot and shoe hygiene. READ MORE

  • Are high heels safe for my feet?

High heels in general are not good for your feet, as they put your foot in an un-natural position, increasing pressure under the balls of your feet, making the ankle unstable, and not allowing proper weightbearing distribution of forces. It would be better for you to limit your wear of high heels. READ MORE

  • What are the best creams for toenail fungus?

Tolcylen line of anti-fungal products are the most effective to date, as they have a synergistic combination of medications, and low molecular weight formulation which allows for penetration of the affected area of nail. READ MORE

  • Is the pain in my toe because of an ingrown toenail?

If the nail is digging into the skin and the area is red or releasing pus, then yes, and you should see your doc. You can also soak the foot in 20 mins of warm salty water to see if that helps. READ MORE

  • What are the treatment options for toe fungus?

Toe fungus needs an aggressive approach, as anything less will not work and be a waste of time and money. You're welcome to try Lamisil cream, otc, as this is the best otc. I've found that only a low molecular weight mediation will work effectively. There are a few prescription mediations that fit this mold, but the best effective topical is Tolcylen ointment for the neisl, which can be obtained at your doctor's office or through a pharmacy. You should also treat your shoes and skin on the toes as well. READ MORE

  • Why does the center of my foot hurt when I walk?

If it's in the balls of the feet, it may be due to inflammation around the joints. If it's in the arch and heels, it may be plantar fasciitis, inflammation of the long ligaments on the bottom of the feet. Either way, see your doc to treat this properly READ MORE

  • What is the best way to treat ingrown toenails?

If soaking in warm salt water does not stop the pain, you should see your doc. Trying to dig around an ingrown nail at home will only cause a worsening infection and more pain READ MORE
