    Depends on several pieces of information you can gather yourself: 1. Glucose is above 400? If yes, then go since you will need IV fluids and more likely insulin IV or sq. 2. Does urine have ketones in excess? If so, go to ED since you may be in DKA. 3. Do you have usually good control (sugars less than 180 most of the time)?
