About

Dr. Cobra Chamblee is a family medicine doctor practicing in central Florida near The Villages since May of 2021. Prior to that, she had been in the Panhandle of Texas, in the small town of Dimmitt. She has a broad and varied range of experiences as a physician. She initially did Family practice and obstetrics, delivering babies in rural Arkansas as well as the small, picturesque town of LaGrange, Texas. She performed C-sections, did tubal ligations, and covered the emergency rooms as well. She also started her family while in medical school. She had a baby her third year, her fourth year, and one during her residency. Her classmates had referred to her as "Dr. Mom".  She has written and published a children's book entitled "Brenby Conquers the Sea", available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. In Florida, she primarily has been seeing geriatric patients over age 65. 
In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, swimming, traveling, and writing and driving.

What do you attribute your success to?

  • I was born to do exactly this, and so I never let any obstacle stop me. Sometimes I had to do things in a very difficult way in order to stay the course, but I never gave up.

Teaching and speaking

  • I taught a Comparative anatomy lab when I was an undergraduate. My students were almost entirely pre-med, when I was not at the time. However, I was the next year. Also, this past year, I gave several talks to the community about topics that affect our aging population the mostheart health and cognitive decline.

Favorite Place to Vacation

  • I havent found it yet, however, so far I would have to say Grand Cayman

Hobbies / Sports

  • Swimming, reading, I have recently started to make greeting cards for those special people in my life. I love watching the sunsets in my backyard and just playing with my cats. I love to write, and read my childrens writing as well.
