Established in 1825, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital currently has 957 licensed acute care beds, with major programs in a wide range of clinical specialties. The university hospital is well known for a number of programs, including orthopaedics, heart disease, cancer, and liver transplants, among others. It is one of the few hospitals in the United States that is recognized as both a Regional Level 1 Trauma Center and as a federally-recognized Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center. Jefferson internists provide specialized care in: geriatrics, women’s and men’s special health needs, and urgent health needs including problems of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous system, and reproductive organs.
Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Lau serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Internal Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. The Division of Internal Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University is home to more than 40 outstanding full, part-time, and volunteer internal medicine/primary care physicians and advanced practice providers.
