Hi! If it is truly an infection caused by a bacteria, it is best treated with an antibiotic that treats that particular kind of bacteria. Viral infections often can mimic bacterial infections and are not improved with the use of antibiotics. Of course, helping the body to heal also requires proper fluid intake and good nutrition.
