A top pediatric infectious disease physician, Dr. Hunt is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Medical Director of Infection Control and Prevention at CHRISTUS Children’s.

As a distinguished academic and clinician, he has served on the Senior Faculty at Baylor College of Medicine since July 2022 and previously held the position of Associate Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine since 2004. His deep commitment to advancing pediatric care is evident in his impressive academic background and clinical achievements.

A graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1997, Dr. Hunt completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan/Wayne State University in 2000. He further specialized in pediatric infectious diseases through a fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine, completing it in 2003, where he also contributed as an instructor for a year. 

Dr. Hunt’s dedication to public health is underscored by his Master of Public Health Degree from The Ohio State University College of Public Health, where he studied from 2014 to 2017. His commitment to global health and infectious disease management is highlighted by specialized training, including a tuberculosis workshop at National Jewish Health in Denver, and the esteemed Gorgas Diploma Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Lima, Peru.

In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Hunt has actively participated in training programs such as the National Ebola Training & Education Center in Atlanta, Georgia. His proactive approach to staying at the forefront of infectious disease management underscores his commitment to ensuring the well-being of children.
