Get to know Oncologist Dr. Yelena Krijanovski, who serves patients in Fairfield, California.

Trusted oncologist, Dr. Krijanovski, works at Sutter Fairfield Medical Campus, which is a part of Sutter Health. “I try to see things from my patient’s perspective, speaking the same language and being passionate about helping them.”

Licensed to practice medicine in California, the doctor is affiliated with several hospitals and medical centers, including Sutter Solano Medical Center, Sutter Davis Hospital, Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital, Sutter Medical Foundation, NorthBay Medical Center, and NorthBay VacaValley Hospital.

A 1994 graduate of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University in Moscow, Dr. Krijanovski relocated to the United States to further her training. She completed her internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and her residency at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland. This was followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a second fellowship in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation at Moscow City Children’s Hospital in Russia.

As a testament to her success, she is board-certified in medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine, a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. A medical professional who practices oncology is an oncologist. An oncologist is a doctor who treats cancer and provides medical care for a person diagnosed with cancer. They lead a cancer treatment team of various healthcare professionals, treat patients with radiation therapy, coordinate treatment plans and prescribe various types of treatment, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, as well as assist patients with pain management.

On a more personal note, Dr. Krijanovski is fluent in both English and Russian.
