Get to know Neurosurgeon Dr. Perry Argires, who serves patients in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

A leading expert in the field of neurosurgery, Dr. Argires serves patients at his private practice, Argires Marotti Neurosurgical Associates of Lancaster. Emphasizing the treatment of spinal disorders, he specializes in disc replacement surgery and utilizes minimally invasive techniques to treat common problems such as herniated discs and spinal stenosis. He also has extensive experience in spinal fusion surgeries, resection of spinal tumors, spinal cord stimulation and reconstruction for deformity, brain tumors, and stereotactic biopsy.

Throughout his academic career, he graduated with his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurosurgery at the University of Alabama, and served as Chief Resident in his final year.

Recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the doctor is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.

On a professional level, Dr. Argires is an active member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the Pennsylvania State Society of Neurosurgeons.

Neurosurgery is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, surgical treatment, and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and extra-cranial cerebrovascular system. Neurosurgeons are doctors who diagnose and treat problems with the nervous system, often by performing surgery on the brain or spine. They treat strokes, tumors, cervical and lumbar disc disease, infections, and head or spinal cord injuries.
