Dr. James O Jin graduated from Zhejiang Medical University and received the First Prize in National Medical Graduation Examination in 1983 from Zhejiang Medical University in China. He was the first recipient of Elkhart General Hospital’s “Hey Doc You Rock” award in May 2014, Elkhart, Indiana. He was the recipient of the Louis E. Zeil Scholorship Award from Covenant Health Care for Outstanding Junior Resident in 2002 and Chief Resident of the Department of Internal Medicine, Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine at the Saganaw Campus (now the Synergy Medical Education Alliance Program) in 2002-2003. He completed his Oncology and Hematology clinical training at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2006. He was Research Associate at the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School after receiving a PhD at the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto. He has authored many publications, including articles in highly respected journals such as Circulation, Nature and Nature Genetics, and chapters of books of treatment of bladder cancer and kidney cancer. He has been a member of the University of Chicago Medicine Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy Physicians Advisory Board since 2016. Dr. Jin is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology.

Dr. Jin is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist who is currently serving patients at Elkhart Clinic in Indiana. Elkhart Clinic was founded in 1954 with the partnership of four physician specialists: Thomas Elliott, Jack Ivy, James Futterknecht, and Ed Dovey. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his residency at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. There, he served as Chief Resident and earned the Louis E. Zeile Scholarship Award from Covenant Health Care for Outstanding Junior Resident in 2002. In 2006, Dr. Jin completed his fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Furthermore, he earned his PhD at the University of Toronto in 1998.

Since 2016, Dr. Jin has been a member of the Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy Physicians Advisory Board of the University of Chicago Medicine.
