Get to know Dentist Dr. Linda E. Stone, who serves patients in Livingston, New Jersey.

A true entrepreneur, Dr. Stone was at the forefront of women in dentistry when she began her career in 1982. She was quick to see the need for a new kind of dentist – one who is empathetic and compassionate enough to work with patients who experience significant stress and anxiety when visiting the dentist.

Seeing a chance to help those patients change their lives for the better inspired her to open Gentle Caring Dentistry in Livingston, New Jersey in the 90’s. Since then, she has been responsible for helping people regain control of their lives by providing them with the smile of their dreams. Under her entrepreneurial leadership and guidance, her daughter, Vanna N. Stone, DMD, adds her own expertise and skill to the dental practice.

“We’ve had patients who have told us that they never could have imagined how much their life has improved simply due to their smile. As a dentist, there is no greater feeling than knowing you have truly helped someone” as stated by Dr. Stone.

Architects of some of the nicest smiles in the Livingston area, the mother-daughter duo are devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of one’s smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long-lasting smiles! Alumni of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, they created a scholarship together known as the inaugural Linda E. Stone, DMD and Vanna N. Stone, DMD Endowed Scholarship.

In the dynamic field of dentistry, Dr. Stone understands that it pays to stay abreast of innovations by reading the latest journals, participating in study clubs, and sharing her experiences and knowledge with peers. A Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, she is a certified member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the International Team for Implantology. In addition, she has been featured on TV and several periodicals, including Garden State Women magazine, Doctors of Dentistry magazine, New Jersey Monthly magazine, and The Beacon.

Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
