Dr. Herbert is an accomplished, board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon with extensive experience in medical and cosmetic dermatology. Her interests include conducting comprehensive skin examinations, treating pigmented lesions, preventing skin cancer, and optimizing skin care regimen.

At her private practice, FDL Dermatology, she and her staff remain dedicated to delivering the most effective comprehensive treatments for children, adolescents, and adults in a professional setting. Located in Arlington, Virginia, FDL Dermatology is a full-service dermatology practice that provides general medical dermatology, dermatological surgery, and cosmetic dermatology services to patients in the greater Washington D.C. area. 

A 1999 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., Dr. Herbert went on to earn her Master of Public Health degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine. Thereafter, she completed her internship in internal medicine at Georgetown University, followed by her residency in dermatology at the Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Shortly after, she became board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). Since its inception in 1932, the ABD has certified over 15,000 physicians in dermatology, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology. 

In order to stay up to date in her field, Dr. Herbert remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatologic Surgery, the Women’s Dermatology Society, the Virginia Medical Society, the Arlington County Medical Society, the Washington D.C. Dermatological Society, the Leadership Society with the Dermatology Foundation, the National Psoriasis Foundation, and the Georgetown Clinical Society. 

With medical licenses in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., Illinois, and Louisiana, Dr. Herbert is also a Clinical Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center as well as an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University. She has given numerous lectures at medical conferences and has published several articles on dermatology and public health issues. 

Dermatology is the branch of medicine dealing with the skin, nails, hair and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. Dermatologists are medical practitioners who specialize in treating conditions of the skin, sunburn, and skin cancer. Their duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures. 

In addition to volunteering through the American Academy of Dermatology and with local Virginia schools to promote sun protection and skin cancer awareness, Dr. Herbert is actively involved in local charities, including the Virginia Hospital Galen Foundation, the Cancer Survivorship Fund, and the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Moreover, she chairs the annual skin cancer screening at the Virginia Hospital Center.

In her personal life, she lives in McLean, Virginia with her family. She enjoys sports activity, as well as reading, traveling, and spending time with her two young sons.
