- Kimberley
Dr Fitzpatrick is very pleasant. I'm sure he is good at what he does. However, my experience in dealing with his office has been horrendous. I fell and shattered my wrist, broke my tibea in 2 places and tore my meniscus on a Saturday, 10/21 - xrays were sent to Slocum and I couldn't be seen until Tuesday 10/24 and at that time only the wrist was treated with Surgery on that Thursday 10/26. I saw Dr on Tuesday 10/21 and not again until 12/21. I have been seeing his PA J Salden and had been complaining about my knee and the fact that my fingers were numb. I requested an MRI on my knee - never got called with the results. Called and requested an appt to speak with Dr on 12/21. He told me I had torn my meniscus, had osteoporis and bone was on bone along with a lot of debris floating around - he said I needed a knee replacement and so nothing would be done except cortisone shots. As he was leaving the room, I asked him about the numbness in my fingers. He asked me if 'he' knew about that issue and I told him that his PA did, because I mentioned it everytime I saw him, along with telling him about the knee. Needless to say surgery was scheduled for the next morning with the thought that it was either carpel tunnel, trigger finger or a nerve issue from the fall. Surgery was done and I went home. No notification on what surgery he ended up doing, no orders for care except for the stitches, and after several calls - no return calls from his staff. In fact - I have never gotten a call returned from his staff. In fact, when I made the first call after the fall and never heard from Slocum and I ended up calling them, when I told the triage nurse (Lynn) that I was in a lot of pain (remember the fall was Saturday 10/21 and finally had to call them - I was told by her 'yeah you and 50 other people'. The scar from my wrist surgery is not noticeable at all, the the rest of my right side is pretty much a mess and we are two weeks past the 'carpel tunnel, nerve??' surgery and still no call or orders re PT or if I have any restrictions regarding my hand and the numbness that is still there. Slocum Center needs to figure out the fix here. I've dealt with Slocum Center before and have NEVER been treated so poorly. I would never recommend Dr Fitzpatrick's staff to ANYONE.
