Emergency medicine physician, Dr. Diskin, is currently serving Miami and the surrounding communities. He is currently Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Dr. Diskin is responsible for the operations of thirty-four shipboard infirmaries around the world, the on-board care of over 10,000 employees, as well as all the corporate public health issues. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is a global cruise holding company incorporated in Liberia and based in Miami, Florida, it is the world’s second-largest cruise line operator.
Previously he practiced at Jackson Memorial Hospital and served as Medical Director and Chief of Emergency Services at the hospital’s Emergency Care Center. Prior to joining Jackson Memorial Hospital, he served for 15 years as the chief of the Division of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
Dr. Diskin earned his Medical Degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 1979. He went on to complete an internship and emergency medicine residency at the Los Angeles Country University of Southern California Medical Center.
To stay up to date in his field, he is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a past president of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Diskin is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional standing, and examination standards. ABEM certification is sought and earned by emergency physicians on a voluntary basis.
