Born and raised in Pakistan, Dr. Cheema earned his combined Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2001 at Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore. Following his relocation to the United States, he completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Drexel College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2004-2007). Furthermore, Dr. Cheema performed additional training via a fellowship in cardiovascular disease medicine (2011-2014) and a fellowship in interventional cardiology (2014-2015) at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease medicine, and interventional cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
