Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Angelo Michael Del Re, who serves patients in San Diego, California.

Dr. Del Re is a pediatrician working within the Division of Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care at Rady Children’s Hospital – San Diego. He is also affiliated with Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Teaching medical students, he serves as a Professor within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California San Diego.

Attending college at Wake Forest University, Dr. Del Re graduated with his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2009. He then completed his residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in 2012.

Board-certified in pediatrics, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Specializing in the health care of children, the doctor’s research interests include child abuse detection and prevention & management of acute pediatric injury and illness.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Successful in his field, Dr. Del Re was named a “2018 — Top Doctor” in the annual San Diego Magazine “Physicians of Exceptional Excellence” survey, and a 2022 Top Doc by San Diego Magazine.
