Get to know Neuro-Oncologist & Neurologist Dr. Alfredo D. Voloschin, who serves the population of Georgia. Board certified neuro-oncologist, Dr. Voloschin treats patients with primary brain tumors, as well as metastatic diseases to the nervous system and paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes. Dr. Voloschin has participated in neuro-oncology clinical trials as a faculty (PI or Co-PI) in the neurosurgery department at Medical College of Georgia, and has actively participated in neuro-oncology clinical trials at the Winship Cancer Institute, Emory University, since 2008 to present. Dr. Voloschin currently practices as a Neuro-Oncologist & Neurologist and Associate Professor, in Hematology & Medical Oncology with Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Dr. Voloschin obtained his medical degree from Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina. He completed a Neurology residency at Hospital Frances in Buenos Aires, Argentina and then moved to the USA, where he completed an Internship at West Suburban Medical Center; Neurology Residency at University of Miami, followed by clinical research Neuro-Oncology Fellowships at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Voloschin is certified in Neurology but the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is licensed to practice in both the state of Georgia and Florida. To stay up to date in his field he remains a professional member of the American Academy of Neurology, Society for Neuro-Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncologists. The mission of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is to develop and provide valid and reliable procedures for certification and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists by: Implementing state-of-the-art testing methods to evaluate candidate and diplomate competencies; Applying available technologies and information to collect and analyze pertinent data; Communicating and collaborating with training programs, residents, candidates, diplomates, professional and health care organizations, and the public; Supporting innovative educational and research programs relevant to psychiatrists and neurologists; and Operating internal programs and services effectively and efficiently.
