Generally ganglion cysts do not cause pain so if you are having pain in the region of the ganglion cyst you need to be evaluated to determine what is actually causing it. Safe bet would be to try NSAIDs (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications). Over the counter you are limited to Aleve vs. Ibuprofen (Ibuprofen/Motrin/Advil are all the same). Get to know Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Vlad Gendelman, who serves patients in Los Angeles, California.
When patients want to see a doctor who can draw on an incredible wealth of experience to treat them compassionately, they come to see Dr. Gendelman. His passion for serving his community and seeing the world have taken him from Los Angeles, where he was the official team physician of the LA Blues SC, to the Philippines, where he worked as a member of volunteer surgical team in impoverished communities. Today, Dr. Gendelman is serving patients at Urgent Orthopaedic care – his private practice located in Los Angeles, California – where he offers treatment for both acute and chronic orthopaedic disorders.
Dr. Gendelman received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Southern California, and his Doctorate from the University of California at Irvine. He then went on to complete his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York. During his time in Brooklyn, he has served as a team physician of Sheepshead Bay High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Football Teams.
Dr. Gendelman is board-certified by American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Dr. Gendelman holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the California Orthopaedic Association. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery.
