Furthering his training, Dr. Cummings did his residency in internal medicine at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in 1986. Two years later, in 1988, he completed his fellowship at the Philadelphia Heart Institute, and in 1989, he completed a specialty year in interventional cardiology, also at the Philadelphia Heart Institute.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Holding several cardiovascular device patents, Dr. Cummings has been the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the Sinai Hospital since 1998.
