Dr. Aaron Holtebeck is the founder of the Holtebeck Eye Center SC.

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, he specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, eye care for diabetics, and glaucoma surgery, with a special interest in helping his patients be glasses-free and performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS).

He implants premium lenses with cataract surgery, including those for correcting astigmatism and multifocal lens implants.

Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, Dr. Holtebeck received his undergraduate degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where he graduated with honors. Following college, he received his MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, followed by an internship at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Milwaukee. Dr. Holtebeck completed an ophthalmology residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

In 2021, he formed the Holtebeck Eye Center SC, elevating his commitment to excellence in patient care by curating each patient experience from start to finish with empathy and compassion.

Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Holtebeck is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as several other local and state ophthalmology societies.

Dr. Holtebeck enjoys spending his spare time outdoors, bicycling and skiing, both cross country and alpine. He has skied the American Birkebeiner in Hayward, Wisconsin each year since 2006 and has also traveled to Norway to ski in the Norwegian Birkebeiner. Dr. Holtebeck is an avid fan of all Wisconsin sports and was the official courtside ophthalmologist for the Milwaukee Bucks from 2008 through 2018.

A board-certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Holtebeck provides comprehensive ophthalmologic care to patients at his private practice, Holtebeck Eye Center, which he has recently launched in Brookfield, Wisconsin. He is also working in affiliation with ProHealth Care Moreland Surgery Center at the Milwaukee, Waukesha, and Oconomowoc offices in Wisconsin. His practice focuses on cataract surgery, including LASIK/laser vision correction and premium lens implants. 

Dr. Holtebeck treats both medically and surgically a wide array of ophthalmic conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery – MIGS), as well as eyelid issues. Dr. Holtebeck serves as the team ophthalmologist for the Milwaukee Bucks and is a fan of all Wisconsin sports. He maintains active professional memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, Dr. Holtebeck graduated in 1998 from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002. He continued his training with an internship at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center (2002-2003), followed by a residency in ophthalmology and eye surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis, Minnesota (2003-2006).

Following his training, Dr. Holtebeck attained board certification in ophthalmology through the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). The American Board of Ophthalmology is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. Founded in 1916, the ABO was the first American Board established to certify medical specialists.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye. An ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in ophthalmology. The credentials include a degree in medicine, followed by additional four to five years of residency training in ophthalmology. 

Dr. Holtebeck was chosen to teach cataract surgery to ophthalmology residents at the Midwest Cataract Symposium hosted by University of Wisconsin, Madison. A past-president of the Wisconsin Academy of Ophthalmology, he has been selected by his peers to participate in the Leadership Development Program sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. 

An avid cyclist, Dr. Holtebeck enjoys cross-country skiing. He has participated in the American Birkebeiner Cross Country Ski Marathon and hopes to ski the Norwegian Birkebeiner Race.
