After earning her medical degree from the National University of Rosario in Argentina, Dr. Rojas went on to complete her fellowship in surgery of the hand at Nueva Granada Military University in Bogotá, Colombia in 2001. From there, she relocated to the United States to complete an additional fellowship in surgery of the hand at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in 2004. Years later, she completed her residency in anesthesiology at the same educational venue.  

Following her education, she became board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology, whose mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Anesthesiology, anaesthesiology, anaesthesia or anaesthetics is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists are physicians specializing in perioperative care, developing anesthetic plans, and the administration of anesthetics.

Interventional pain management or interventional pain medicine is a medical subspecialty which treats pain with invasive interventions such as facet joint injections, nerve blocks (interrupting the flow of pain signals along specific nervous system pathways), neuroaugmentation (including spinal cord stimulation and peripheral nerve stimulation), vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nucleoplasty, endoscopic discectomy, and implantable drug delivery system. An interventional pain management physician plays an important role in coordinating additional care such as physical therapy, psychological therapy, and rehabilitation programs in order to offer patients a comprehensive treatment plan with a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of their pain.
