Get to know Oncologist Dr. Asit J. Choksi, who serves patients in The Woodlands, Texas.

Dr. Choksi is a board-certified oncologist who is currently serving patients at Texienne Oncology Centers in The Woodlands, Texas. Texienne Oncology Centers is a private oncology medical facility that is committed to providing each patient with an enhanced one-on-one relationship between the physician and his staff with the quality healthcare and lifestyle that they deserve. 

With over 30 years in medical practice, Dr. Choksi exemplifies integrity, a patient-centric focus and a passion for treating cancer patients, while addressing the emotional needs of patients and their families. While most physicians provide the level of care medically accepted by insurance companies, he goes beyond the traditional boundaries of treatment to develop a comprehensive treatment plan using state-of-the-art technology specific to each patient. He is an exceptional medical oncologist and revered by his peers.

In keeping with Dr. Choksi’s philosophy to provide customized care in a proactive, cutting edge method, he is also investing his decades of infusion experience and expertise into the development of infusion centers across Texas.

Dr. Choksi is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a Fellow of the American Academy of Oncology (FAAO), and a Fellow of the American College of Cancer Specialists (FACCS). He is also a member of the Southern Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, 

Dr. Choksi is board-certified in both internal medicine and medical oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Dr. Choksi earned his medical degree from King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College in Mumbai, India. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, followed by his fellowship in medical oncology at the same hospital. He also completed an additional fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. 

Oncology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. As an oncologist, Dr. Choksi is trained to diagnose and treat all types and forms of cancer. He may employ a variety of diagnostic tests such as biopsies, imaging tests, endoscopic tests and laboratory tests. He may also offer treatment techniques such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy to combat the spread of cancer.
