With expertise in treating patients with complex psychological problems and psychiatric issues, Dr. Refaie uses his skills to make refined diagnoses. Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Refaie graduated with his medical degree from Ain Shams University, Faculty of Medicine in 1991. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in psychiatry at State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn in 2002. He also completed his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine in 2004.
With over two decades of experience, he is board-certified in psychiatry & child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Well qualified in his field, Dr. Refaie is an active member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Medical Academy, and the New York University Bellevue Psychiatric Society.
