Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Jahandar Saifollahi, who serves patients in Battle Creek, Michigan.

As a licensed psychiatrist, Dr. Saifollahi collaborates with M. Rouhani, MD, at Behavioral Health Care, P.C. in Grand Rapids and Battle Creek, Michigan. His areas of expertise include psycho-pharmacology, psychosomatic medicine, and the mental health of older adults. His primary focus is on providing psychiatric management in an acute care setting, particularly for individuals facing crises.

Behavioral Health Care, P.C. is driven by a mission to enhance the lives of individuals and elevate overall life satisfaction. Specializing in psychopharmacology and medication management, the practice is dedicated to restoring a healthy balance, strengthening inner resources, improving interpersonal, social, and occupational functioning, and enhancing coping skills to help individuals regain a sense of control.

Academically, Dr. Saifollahi received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma State University in 1986 and his Medical Degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in 1993. He then completed his postgraduate training in psychiatry at Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies, Michigan State University.

Furthering his training, Dr. Saifollahi completed a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. 

On a professional level, he is a member of the American Medical Society and the American Psychiatric Association. He is the Past-Chair of the Psychiatric Department at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Saifollahi has published several articles and chapters on topics of depression, pain, and psychiatric aspects of cancer.
