Get to know Emergency Physician Dr. Jan Zislis, who serves patients in Purchase, New York.

Dr. Zislis, a board-certified emergency physician, is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of ModernMedical in Purchase, New York. He works alongside Dr. Dr. Michael Canter, remaining dedicated to providing continuous, high-quality medical care that treats the patient, rather than just their symptoms.

ModernMedical is a patient-centric concierge medical practice that can best be described as traditional meets innovative. It has refined and enhanced the concept of concierge medicine to incorporate the latest advancements in healthcare, coupled with customized treatments that promote and maintain wellness. A wide variety of services are offered, including house calls, prescription maintenance, preventative care and referrals to specialists specifically trained for patients’ needs. 

Back in 1998, Dr. Zislis graduated with his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, completing rotating internships in internal medicine, general surgery, and pediatrics. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed a residency in emergency medicine and traumatology at the University of Connecticut where he received highly advanced training in medical and surgical subspecialties. 

A Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, he is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.

In addition to his other qualifications, Dr. Zislis is on staff at Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut. His extensive experience in a comprehensive range of healthcare disciplines enables him to diagnose and treat emergent and chronic conditions, with the goal of providing thorough yet practical care to his patients at the highest levels of personal service. 

Emergency medicine, also known as trauma and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of life threatening medical conditions or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. They are trained to care for a wide range of problems that require emergent medical help. These problems are often serious and may be life-threatening. 

Dr. Zislis’ commitment to service excellence has earned him numerous awards and extends to educating patients about their issues and guiding them through complex situations.

On a more personal note, he speaks multiple languages, including English, Hebrew, Russian, and Spanish.
