Dr. Rhoads, a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, is a firm believer that learning is a life-long process. He is the Founding Partner of Pomeroy and Rhoads Orthopaedics, PLLC, with two convenient locations in Louisville, Kentucky.

A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Rhoads received the Top Doctor Award by Louisville Magazine in 2015 and 2018. He was also a recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2017 and 2018.
His medical career journey began when he attended the University of Louisville, receiving his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physical Therapy. He then went on to further his education, earning his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the renowned Henry Ford Health Systems in Detroit, followed by his fellowship in shoulder, hip, and knee replacement at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Wanting to further his education, Dr. Rhoads received additional training in hip arthroscopy and hip preservation surgery for femoral acetabular impingement and anterior hip replacement surgery. Before long, he became board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, which is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.
Outside of the office, Dr. Rhoads’ interests include woodworking and spending time with his wife, Shiela, and his three children.
