Is surgery really needed for kidney stones?
Hi, Make sure that your son is checked for HYPERPARATHYROIDSM. He needs to check his serum calcium and PTH (parathormone) level. This will indicate why he is forming stones at a young age. IF the stones are too large to pass, then the stones can be "shattered" with ultrasound and flushed. If the stones are stuck in the kidney calyx system, operative intervention will be needed. Can excess bleeding during a surgery have an after effect?
I think you meant to say that she had severe bleeding. IF she had severe bleeding, lowering her hemoglobin level below 9, she probably would have needed a transfusion. What is the procedure like for hair transplant surgery?
Surgical transplant surgery is follicular grafting. There are several grades and ways of doing it (laser, etc). This is very expensive, often costing over $10,000. What happens when a patient bleeds out during surgery?
In a real-life operation, if bleeding occurs in any part of the body: 1. DO NOT PANIC 2. APPLY FIRM PRESSURE AT THE SITE OF THE BLEEDING until it stops. Exception, of course, is the neck where one has to be careful not to "choke to death." 3. In the operating room, we pack the area for a few minutes and slowly remove the packing to identify the source of bleeding and clamp as necessary and tie off the bleeder. If it is capillary or small vessel bleed, then certain medications (powder or dressing type) is applied to stop the bleeding. Good idea! No one should be walking around with a known tumor in any part of the body. Cancer is so common that you cannot afford to neglect them. There is always a risk in having stomach surgery with associated anesthesia side effects/complications. Risks: Death, anastamotic leak, infection of the wound, bleeding from the site, and narrowing of outlet due to scarring are the common ones. Usually, a regular, uncomplicated appendectomy, either laparoscopically or through a small right lower quadrant incision, should not affect the appetite. After mine, I couldn't wait to eat! If there is a post-operative abscess, then I can understand that affecting your appetite. Check your white blood cell count. If it is elevated, then further examination by the surgeon is indicated. How should I mentally prepare myself for surgery?
Good question. What is the surgery for? If it is for something that is interfering with your day to day life (example, tumor, cancerous or otherwise, infection or abscess, hernia etc), then LOOK FORWARD to the operation with POSITIVE HEALING THOUGHTS. Remember, EVERYTHING starts with a thought. Thoughts are vibrations and have frequencies. When you have positive vibrations, then healing hormones will be secreted by the body and you will have no problem. Try not to be SCARED as this is a negative vibration.
