Get to know Vascular Surgeon Dr. Kenneth J. Wright, who serves patients throughout the State of Florida.

A top professional in the field of vascular surgery, Dr. Wright is affiliated with The Vein & Vascular Institute of Tampa Bay, working with patients at their offices in Tampa and Lutz, Florida. He is passionate about helping patients overcome fatal arterial and vein diseases such as aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). His goal is to use state-of-the-art vascular surgery techniques that are minimally invasive to put an end to PAD-related limb amputations. 

Furthermore, he has extensive experience in endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) as well as open chest aortic aneurysm repair to save patients’ lives.

In regards to his educational background, Dr. Wright attended Ohio State University and earned a degree in Exercise Science with honors. While he was an undergraduate, he conducted research on cranial based tumors at Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and was elected President of Buckeye Advocates for Student Health. 

Subsequently, he earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed his residency in general surgery at SUNY Buffalo. He then went on to participate in vascular surgery research, before returning to Ohio State to complete a fellowship at the Ross Heart Hospital.

After extensive training and studies, the doctor became board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). He also became an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, and was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS).

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty in which diseases of the vascular system, including the arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation, are managed by medical therapy, minimally invasive catheter procedures, and surgical reconstruction. A vascular surgeon diagnoses, treats, and manages conditions in the arteries and veins, also called the blood vessels. These specialists treat a range of health problems, from spider and varicose veins to life-threatening aneurysms, and can help patients manage chronic conditions throughout their lives.

An authority in his field, Dr. Wright has been recognized by his peers as being one of the top doctors in vascular surgery for 5 consecutive years (2017 through 2021) in the Tampa Bay area.
