An excellent orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand surgery, Dr. Galvin is an attending physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth.

Regarding her educational background, Dr. Galvin earned her medical degree from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth in 1993. She then went on to complete her internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Brown University in 1998.

As a testament of her continued education, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

An Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dr. Galvin also has medical privileges at the Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and non-surgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Galvin has been the recipient of various awards and honors, including the Patients’ Choice Award (2014), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014), and On-Time Doctor Award (2014).
