Dr. McKinney is originally from Texas and attended all the big schools. He attended undergraduate at West TX A&M, medical school at UT Southwestern and residency at Texas Tech. He is married and has 2 boys that keep him quite busy. He enjoys the beach, baseball, and cars! He has been practicing in Venice, FL since 2005. Since then he bought the practice from his colleague Dr. Richard A. Conroy and has moved locations and changed the name to Oasis Eye Care, Optical & MedSpa. At Oasis Eye Care he is building a family business--staff and patients are all treated with the upmost respect and care. His moto is "Our Vision is to Protect Yours". This is true in all we do as we aim to provide quiality services in relation to Eye Care, Eye Disease, and Skin Care. We strive to stay at the forefont of technology and products offered and used during services. Each patient's treatment plan in individualized to increase the health of their eyes and/or skin.

Why are the whites of my daughters eyes brown?
The first question would be her ethnic background. For darker skin people, over time the whites can darker. If she is caucasian or European descent, she should be seen. The medication can cause swelling inside the eye, although not common she should be followed by an eye care provider. READ MORE
Is it a blood clot or pink eye?
Most likely it is a conjunctiva hemorrhage and visine can worsen it. It is like a bruise and should resolve in 10 to 14 days. It can be common with many different behaviors. If there is a change in vision or associated pain he should see an eye care provider. READ MORE

What helps morning dry eyes?
It depends on the cause. It could be you aren't sleeping with your eyes fully closed, medications, allergies etc. You should have an exam to determine the health of the surface. READ MORE
How do you treat a viral eye infection?
Like with any other virus, you have to let it run its course. It is highly contagious, so avoid touching your eyes and wash any items afterwards. Use lots of preservative free tears to help alleviate the symptoms. READ MORE
Do you need eye surgery to repair an eye damaged from viral pink eye?
This would be a question for your eye care provider. It depends on the type of virus and damage of involved tissue. READ MORE
How long does it take for red, itchy eyes to clear?
It depends on the cause. Days for true allergies by avoiding the cause and use of over the counter treatments. Days to weeks if from dry eyes using a good name brand lubricating drops and avoiding near tasks every 20 minutes to rest the eyes for a minute.
