Having always enjoyed studying and challenging herself to perform at her best, Dr. Basso’s pursuit for academic excellence resulted in her graduating Valedictorian from Evangelical Mackenzie Faculty of Parana in Brazil, where she is from. She completed two residencies in obstetrics and gynecology at the following institutions: Federal University of Parana and West Virginia University.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG), the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Open to innovation, Dr. Basso has been certified to perform robotic gynecological surgery since 2009. She is affiliated with Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Charleston Area Medical Center.
