Established in 1984, Cleveland Urology Associates is one of the most established practices in NorthEast Ohio with offices in Middleburg Heights, Westlake, Garfield Heights, Downtown Cleveland, Warrensville Heights, and Hudson. Prior to his current endeavors, Dr. Kedia served as Chief of Urology at Minneapolis VA Hospital and as an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Minnesota and Case Western Reserve University.
Throughout his academic career, he graduated from medical school in India with honors in anatomy, surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and obstetrics/gynecology. Upon relocating to the United States, he went on to complete his internship at the Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, followed by his residency in urology at the University of Minnesota.
A Fellow of the American Urological Association and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the doctor is board-certified in urology by the American Board of Urology, whose mission is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, as well as to work with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, and ethical urologic care. He also holds membership status with several national and international professional organizations.
Urology, also known as genitourinary surgery, is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
Among his various achievements, Dr. Kedia is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, a recognized physician trainer for surgical procedures, as well as the recipient of major NIH grants to develop a male birth control pill.
