I have foot pain?
Go see a podiatrist and get an X-ray. Bruising like that may indicate fracture or significant tendon or ligament damage that may require something as simple as cast boot immobilization or maybe up to surgery. READ MORE
I have a bone growth under my heel and it hurts. What should I do?
Make an appointment with a podiatrist. An X-ray and exam can help determine the cause and the appropriate treatment. READ MORE
I have a wound on hallux?
Looks like an ingrown toenail is causing pressure on the skin leading to the growth of a granuloma. While there are other possible causes, ingrown toenail is the most common. A quick procedure done by a podiatrist in office can fix this and prevent it from coming back in the future. READ MORE
A glass piece has gone inside my foot and the area has become red. Will a podiatrist be able to help me?
Podiatrists are exactly who you should see whenever you suspect a piece of glass or other foreign body may have punctured your foot. They are the best suited to treat this condition. The redness may indicate the beginning of an infection and should be addressed as soon as possible. If you have difficulty scheduling an appointment to see a podiatrist due to their schedule being booked up, ask them if they can squeeze you in as you think you may have an infection. If you still can't see them immediately, then see your primary care doctor or an urgent care center to see if you need an antibiotic and then see the podiatrist as soon as possible after that. Try to avoid putting weight on the puncture site as walking on the area can push the glass/object deeper into your flesh making it more difficult to remove later. It is much easier to remove these shards of glass from a fresh wound, than it is from a wound a week or months later. READ MORE
Why could my feet be so itchy?
Itchy, dry scaling skin, occasionally with punctate pustules (bumps) with clear watery drainage if scratched open in a moccasin distribution can be a sign of Tinea Pedis, also know as "Athlete's Foot Rash". Tinea Pedis comes in many shapes and forms and can be very mild to extremely severe. Most respond well to topical anti-fungal medications, but more severe types occasionally require prescription oral and topical medications. READ MORE
