Since 1999, Dr. Gallegos has helped many patients feel more confident about their appearance through his surgical and nonsurgical treatments of the face, breast, body, skin, and hair. As a young man, Dr. Gallegos completed his undergraduate training in pharmacy at the University of New Mexico. He also worked in his dad’s pharmacy in Las Vegas, New Mexico where he voiced concerns over the number of people with unique facial deformities who went untreated due to lack of insurance or knowledge about how to access financial resources. He later attended medical school at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine where he was mentored and guided into the surgical field by Dr. Donald E. Fry. Dr. Gallegos completed his general surgery training at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston along with a fellowship in advanced microsurgery at Houston’s St. Joseph Hospital. He also received rigorous training during his plastic surgery residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, as well as in pediatric plastic surgery at Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital and Chicago’s Shriners Hospital.
Providing high-quality surgical and nonsurgical treatments to men and women, Dr. Gallegos is dedicated to helping individuals obtain the bodies they desire. He returned to New Mexico after his plastic surgery residency in Texas to start his career as a cosmetic plastic surgeon by opening Hermosa Plastic Surgery in 1999. He also took on extra emergency room calls at St. Joseph and Presbyterian Hospitals where he performed hand surgery, nerve and vascular reconstruction, and other microsurgical procedures.
Today, he has a thriving practice with surgical, nonsurgical, and MedSpa treatments available to his patients with a staff of highly experienced medical professionals. Breast augmentation, tummy tuck, liposuction, fat transfer (to the buttocks), and facelift are some of the most popular procedures requested of his talents. He also performs cosmetic injectables, laser treatments, and hair restoration procedures in his facility.

Recently, Dr. Gallegos published a research paper in the esteemed journal, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, on using pedicle flaps for breast reconstruction. He has also published work in Aesthetic Surgery Journal on research he completed at Northwestern University Medical School for a one-stage treatment approach for tuberous breast deformity. In addition, he volunteers at the University of New Mexico within the Department of Surgery.
