You are correct, due to your current blood thinner as well as your kidney disease you should definitely avoid all of the anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen. A board-certified internist, Dr. Pierce is the founder of the Dakota Stem Cell Institute, which he established in 2018 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Dakota Stem Cell Institute is an affiliate of the Cell Surgical Network® (CSN). The Institute’s work focuses on separating individual’s own natural stem cells from the reservoir of the fat layer beneath their skin and giving them back in an attempt to use the cells’ natural healing abilities to improve the patients health.
Dr. Pierce specializes in perioperative hospitalist care, internal medicine, and regenerative medicine. He has been a hospitalist at Black Hills Surgical Hospital for 20 years. He is also affiliated with Veterans Affairs Black Hills Health Care System, and Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Dr. Pierce received his medical degree in1987 from Rush Medical College of Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. He remained in Chicago for his internal medicine residency conducted at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois (1987 – 1990).
Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.
Internists are physicians specializing in internal medicine, a discipline focused on the care of adults emphasizing use of the best medical science available in caring for patients in the context of thoughtful, meaningful doctor-patient relationships as exemplified by the life and work of Sir William Osler, the “father” of internal medicine in the United States.
