Dr. Mina Levi earned her dental degree in 1998 from the University of Sofia with honors. In the following 3 years she completed the Orthodontics Postgraduate Program at the University of Plovdiv. Dr. Levi owned and operated two very successful dental practices in Europe until 2002 when she moved to San Francisco. She was instrumental in the development of her first dental office in the US, the California Center for Aesthetic Dentistry and now runs her second practice at 450 Sutter Street in San Francisco. Dr. Levi's dental office is not only a friendly, warm, and welcoming environment, but is also a hot spot for the latest dental technology. We specialize in Invisalign, thin no prep veneers, general dental procedures, metal free zirconia implants, ICON treatments, no drill techniques.

  • What are the most visible signs and symptoms of a gum disease?

    Thank you for the great question. The gum disease comes with the following symptoms - bleeding, swollen gums, redness. These signs can be identified at the time of your dental cleaning procedure which has to be performed twice a year unless there is a previous history of gum disease or a periodontal disease which usually means that there is some bone loss.   • I can't fix my teeth sensitivity. What do I do?

    Thanks for the question. There are different reasons for tooth sensitivity - receding gums, cervical defects on the teeth, caries/decay, generalized unexplained sensitivity. In order to treat it the dentist has to diagnose first what is causing the sensitivity and try to solve the problem. Using toothpaste for sensitive teeth might not help if the reason for the sensitivity is not addressed. Try to see your dentist for an exam and X rays to verify what is causing the sensitivity. In some instances the problem can be also related to your diet - acidic diet can cause generalized tooth sensitivity. Best of luck to you! READ MORE

  • Adult tooth is loose. What should I do?

    Hi there, sorry to hear it. The loose tooth has to be evaluated by a general dentist who will determine if there is a way to safe the tooth.   • Wisdom teeth removal

    Hi there, Thank you for the great question. Wisdom teeth extractions that are unpredictable has to be done in a special setting with an oral surgeon. The way to tell if the wisdom teeth extraction will be more complicated is to check the surrounding anatomical structures in the mouth and on X-rays. In case the upper wisdom teeth are impacted - covered with bone, and/or are close to the upper sinus, they need to be removed by an oral surgeon. In case the lower wisdom teeth are impacted or close to the lower canal where the nerve runs they need to be removed by an oral surgeon. Keep in mind that some general dentists have special training in surgical extractions without being board certified and this will be enough to handle a complicated wisdom teeth extraction. The safest thing will be to ask your general dentist about wisdom teeth extraction experience. I hope this helps. READ MORE
