Dr. Barton, a distinguished anesthesiologist with three decades of experience, continues to provide exceptional care to patients in Hines and the surrounding areas. Affiliated with respected institutions such as Swedish Covenant Hospital, Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital, Highland Park Hospital, and NorthShore Skokie Hospital, Dr. Barton has become a cornerstone of the medical community through his expertise in critical care medicine.

Throughout his academic career, he earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1987 and completed his residency in anesthesiology at SSM Health/Saint Louis University School of Medicine from 1988 to 1991. He further honed his skills during a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University from 1993 to 1994. 

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of medical practice.

Reflecting on his career, Dr. Barton attributes much of his success to the influences of his family and mentors. Growing up in a medical household, with a father who served as a physician in World War II and a brother who inspired him with his dedication to medicine, he found role models in both his family and his mentor, Dr. Jeremy Krock, D.O. “Their unwavering commitment to patient care instilled in me the values that guide my practice today,” he states.

In addition to his medical background, he credits his high school experience as a varsity swimmer for teaching him the discipline and resilience necessary for a successful career in medicine. “Swimming taught me the importance of hard work, consistency, and teamwork—all critical components in the field of healthcare,” he adds.
