Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Marketa Wills, who serves the population of Florida. Dr. Wills completed her undergraduate degree from Brown University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology as well as being Pre-Med. She also holds a Master of Business Arts in Finance and Healthcare Management from the Wharton School of Business. Furthering her education she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2000, giving her nearly two decades of experience in her field. After obtaining her medical Degree she then completed her psychiatry residency with the Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital program, where she served as chief resident. Dr. Wills is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Wills currently practices in her co-owned private practice, Healthy Mind MD and additionally serves as a physician executive at a Fortune 500 health insurance company. She holds an expertise in Mood disorders, Personality disorders, Substance abuse issues, Eating Disorders, Women’s mental health issues, Suicide, Geriatric issues, and the psychological issues behind mass shootings. Which she also addresses in her co-authored book Going Beyond Crazy. Psychology is the science of behavior and mind, including conscious and unconscious phenomena, as well as feeling and thought. It is an academic discipline of immense scope and diverse interests that, when taken together, seek an understanding of the emergent properties of brains, and all the variety of epiphenomena they manifest. As a social science it aims to understand individuals and groups by establishing general principles and researching specific cases. When not working, Dr. Wills enjoys traveling, participating in community service, and the arts.
