Get to know Family Practitioner, Dr. Daphne M. Rosales Barragan, who serves patients in Tucson, Arizona

Dr. Rosales Barragan is a board-certified family medicine doctor, practicing at Tucson Family Medicine, part of Arizona Community Physicians, in Tucson, Arizona. 

Her clinical interests are diabetes treatment and prevention, women’s health, geriatrics, and obesity medicine. Dr. Rosales Barragan is a Clinical Assistant Professor at El Rio Community Health Center/Wright Center (2018 – present) and a Clinical preceptor the University of Arizona College of Medicine (2017 – present), and she is also actively participating in research projects with Emagine Solutions Technology.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Humanity from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2008, Dr. Rosales embarked on a Global Scholars Program at Northumbria University in the U.K, and St. George’s University School of Medicine, graduating with a medical degree 2013. She then completed her family medicine residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, South Campus in Tucson, Arizona (2013 – 2016). Subsequent to her training, Dr. Rosales Barragan received board certification in family medicine through the American Board of Family medicine (ABFM). 

Family medicine is a medical specialty within primary care that provides preventative, continuing and comprehensive medical care for the individual and family across all ages, genders, diseases, and parts of the body. The specialist, who is usually a primary care physician, is named a family physician.

On a more personal note, Dr. Rosales is a native Spanish speaker, in addition to speaking fluent English. Outside her practice, she enjoys hiking, dancing, and yoga.
