Recognized as a skilled internist, Dr. Mangat’s interests include complex perplexing medical cases, diabetes and complicated retinal problems, sleep disorders, as well as lyme and viral induced encephalitis.
A member of the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, the doctor is board-certified through the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine, which serves as an independent certifying body for Urgent Care Medicine. He is also board-eligible in internal medicine and board-qualified in ophthalmology.
On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Mangat graduated from England’s prestigious Epsom College (High School) with direct admission to the School of Medicine of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He spent time at Johns Hopkins and was the bicentennial Student Union President. He then trained at the University Teaching Hospitals of Trinity College Dublin, London, and Oxford in family practice and ophthalmology. In his current capacity, Dr. Mangat is an Assistant Professor at Howard University College of Medicine where he enjoys mentoring bright young minds. He is also on the Managing Board of Southern Maryland ACO and the Contracts committee One Health Quality Alliance IPA, holds patents, and is the Medical Director of Jebra Technologies.
Furthermore, he submitted ideas to his US Senator that were incorporated into the Affordable Care Act of 2010, wrote the lead prayer for the DC Interfaith Convention on MLK Day in 2006, as well as promoted voter registration amongst Montgomery County’s minorities. Recently, he escorted nightmare cases by air to the UAE using his inventions.
