Get to know Radiation Oncologist Dr. Paul K. Treadwell, who serves patients in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Practicing in the Southern Nevada community for nearly 20 years, Dr. Treadwell sees patients at Genesis Care. He is a leading expert in the local community for his work in treating the pediatric oncology population, and attends numerous hospital tumor boards within the community to discuss difficult cases. His clinical interests include head and neck cancers, pediatric oncology and the treatment of gynecological cancers using all forms of high dose rate brachytherapy.

Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Riverside, Dr. Treadwell earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine at Reno. Returning to California, he completed his internship and residency in radiation oncology at the University of California Irvine Medical Center.

An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The mission of the ABR is to serve patients, the public, and the medical profession by certifying that its diplomats have acquired, demonstrated, and maintained a requisite standard of knowledge, skill, and understanding essential to the safe and competent practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

In the past, he served as an attending physician at the Radiation Oncology Centers of Las Vegas, and was the Associate Head of Radiation Oncology at St. Joseph Hospital and Children’s Hospital. He also served as a Clinical Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine.

Radiation oncology is a medical specialty that involves the controlled use of radiation to treat cancer. It is one of the three primary specialties – the other two being surgical and medical oncology – involved in the treatment of cancer. A radiation oncologist is a specialist physician who uses ionizing radiation in the treatment of cancer.

Recognized as a Regional Top Doctor by Castle Connolly Magazine, Dr. Treadwell has been the recipient of the Top Doctor Award by Desert Companion Magazine (2019-2021), and Top Doctor Award by Vegas Seven Magazine (2014-2018).
