Get to know Internist Dr. Buelah Y. Williams, who serves patients in Atlanta, Georgia.

A trained internist, Dr. Williams can be found on staff at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She provides and manages long-term, comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis and nonsurgical treatment of diseases.

Emory Healthcare, part of Emory University, is the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia. It is made up of 11 hospitals, the Emory Clinic, and more than 250 provider locations. Its mission is to improve the health of individuals and communities at home and throughout the world.

Graduating with her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 2006, Dr. Williams went on to perform her residency in internal medicine at the said establishment in 2009.

Subsequent to her training, she attained board certification in internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
