Dr. Joseph is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, receiving his certification in 2012. Dr. Joseph is the one of the few Ophthalmologists in the United States recognized for his excellence by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). In 2018 the ACS nominated Dr. Joseph as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS)

At his practice, he offers comprehensive medical and surgical treatment for eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dye eye disease, and more. He also performs the latest in cutting-edge eye care, including laser cataract surgery, dropless cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and cosmetic eye surgery, among others.
A Shenango Valley native, Dr. Joseph completed his undergraduate degree in mathematics at Allegheny College. He then attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
Subsequently, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by a fellowship in laser cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, including Istent, at Associates in Ophthalmology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In light of his advanced training, he is the first surgeon in Northwestern Pennsylvania to implant the first trifocal intraocular lens, the PanOptix, offered in the United States.
A Fellow of American College of Surgeons, Dr. Joseph is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Additionally, he is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Osteopathic Boards of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, a joint organization that provides board certification to qualified DOs who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the eye (ophthalmologists) and to qualified DOs who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, and throat (otolaryngologists).
