There are many reasons why your HbA1c is still elevated. If you are a type 2 diabetic, some of the possible reasons include: 1. You are not eating properly. 2. You are not exercising 3. Why do I feel chills after taking my medication?
The question is difficult to answer not knowing all the medicines you are taking and also your medical conditions. My first suggestion would be for you to check your finger stick before giving yourself your medicine and 30 minutes later to eliminate hypoglycemia as a cause of your chills. READ MORE
If my HBA1C is 5.2, am I prediabetic?

I am gaining a lot of weight even when I exercise?
You are building muscle as you exercise which reflects your weight gain. You should do more cardiovascular exercises versus weight bearing exercises while trying to lose weight. Stick to a 1200 calorie to 1500 calorie, three meals, two snack regime to lose weight. Do forget to check your thyroid levels. READ MORE
What should be the emergency first steps to deal with hypoglycemia in diabetic patients?
Sit the patient up against a wall. Have straws and soda at work (not sugar-free soda). Place the straw in the persons mouth with the other side in an 8-ounce glass of soda or soda can. Tell the patient to drink and they will. The secret is to make sure the patient is sitting up with your assistance. This method will bring the glucose back up in about 15 minutes. This will also prevent aspiration pneumonia. If you cannot sit the patient up, make sure they have glucagon that you can give them. If not, call 911. READ MORE

A patient is put on insulin when 1. they cannot change their eating patterns and eat excessively. 2. Do not follow a diabetic diet. 3. Do not exercise. 4. Have exhausted most diabetic pills. 5. Is vitamin D deficiency normal in diabetes patients?
Vitamin D deficiency is due to lack of sun exposure. On once you put a sunblocker > 8 on your body the vitamin D cannot be made and stored in your body resulting in deficiency. Long term vitamin d deficiency weakens your bones causing osteopenia/ osteoporosis. If you are deficient start taking 2000 iu's of Vitamin D3 to replenish your loss. READ MORE
