An exceptional dermatologist, Dr. Potozkin is the Founder and CEO of PotozkinMD Skincare & Laser Center in Danville, California.

 

Founded in 1998, PotozkinMD Skincare Center currently boasts over 10,000 visits per year, serving patients from all over the country. In 2016, the center was chosen as the first SkinCeuticals Advanced Clinical Spa. Their expert staff deliver on their mission to provide the best care possible in the best way possible. Pertaining to his educational background, Dr. Potozkin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania before attending the New York University School of Medicine for his medical degree. In 1992, he completed his residency in dermatology at the renowned NYU Skin & Cancer Center, and in 1993, he completed a fellowship in dermatologic surgery at the University of California.

 

In October of 2021, he became one of the first physicians in the United States to take and pass the board certification exam in micrographic and dermatologic surgery and is now dual board-certified in dermatology and Mohs surgery.

 

Published in multiple medical journals, Dr. Potozkin is one of two dermatologists to serve two terms as the president of CalDerm and currently sits on their board of directors. He has served as the Section Chair of Dermatology of the John Muir Medical Center, and served on the board of directors of the Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) from 2009-2015. He also enjoys teaching future dermatologists as a Professor at the University of California, San Francisco.

 

In 2005, as a response to Hurricane Katrina, he and his wife, Dr. Monica Brar, founded “Vanity for Charity,” a charity event that is now held annually at their practice. They have had the privilege of raising over $150,000 for local and national charities, such as the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, Stand Against Domestic Violence, and the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women.

A dermatologist is a specialist doctor who manages skin diseases and deals with both internal and external causes and some cosmetic concerns involving the skin. Dermatological duties include taking consultations, providing screening tests, and undertaking non-invasive surgical procedures.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Potozkin has been named to San Francisco’s “SuperDocs” on multiple occasions, and is the recipient of the prestigious Sulzberger Prize at The NYU Skin & Cancer Unit. He was awarded the 2017 “Business Person of the Year” by the Danville Chamber of Commerce for his contributions to the community, and became a published author with the publication of his book “Botox and Beyond: Your Guide to Safe, Nonsurgical Cosmetic Procedures”. He has also been quoted in the New York Times and has been featured on National TV on shows such as ABC’s 20/20 and NBC’s Today Show as an expert in cosmetic dermatology.
