What happens if wisdom teeth decay?
Decay or in other words “a cavity” is a bacteria that has infected the tooth. Like any infection it can grow and spread. Once the decay gets large enough it enters the “pulp” or nerve of the tooth and cause a a major toothache or even worse form an abscess. A crown that is tooth too high can absolutely cause pain because you are pounding too much pressure more on that tooth compared to the rest. That causes inflammation to the pulp and surrounding fibers that hold the root in place. In turn, you will notice an increased amount of cold sensitivity.
