Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Gabrielle Marshall-Salomon, who serves patients in Madison, New Jersey.
Dr. Marshall-Salomon is a fellowship-trained child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with a special interest in functional and integrative psychiatry. Since March of 2013, she has been in private practice in Madison, New Jersey.
Prior to her current endeavors, she was the Medical Director at Grace Counseling Center (1994 – 2017); in private practice at Psychiatric Consultants of Morris (1989 – 2013); and attending staff within the Department of Psychiatry at Morristown Medical Center (1990 – 1995).
Graduating with her medical degree from New York Medical College in 1983, Dr. Marshall-Salomon went on to perform her residency in psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 1986. She then performed her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center in 1988.
Acknowledged as a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, she is board-certified in psychiatry by the the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Well qualified in her field, Dr. Marshall-Salomon was certified in infant massage education by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Her affiliations include the International Institute of Infant Massage and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
In accounting for her success, Dr. Marshall-Salomon credits the influence of her parents, both of whom served as practicing psychoanalysts in their own right. She also attributes the passion she holds for her work and her intrinsic connection to the community of Madison.
Her various accolades include Patients’ Choice Award (2018) and On-Time Doctor Award (2018).
