I would definitely get him examined. You need to know why he is having these symptoms if they have persisted for more than a few days. Make sure they examine both his knee and his hip. Children can have hip problems that present as knee pain. READ MORE
What's the usual recovery time after hip surgery?
The recovery from his surgery will depend on exactly what surgery you are about to undergo. I am assuming you are about to proceed with a total hip arthroplasty. A total hip replacement is a wonderful procedure which has very little postoperative pain. You should be allowed to ambulate full weight bearing immediately after the surgery. We usually tell people to allow the soft tissues to recover for about 6 weeks. At that time, you should be able to begin resuming activities as tolerated. READ MORE
I am suffering from severe numbness in my foot after a hip replacement surgery. Is it normal?
Numbness in the foot after total hip arthroplasty could be secondary to either stretching or compression of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the large nerve that controls motor and sensory function in her lower extremity. the nerve crosses very close to the hip joint and it is not unheard of for there to be some compromise of the nerve during the surgery. You should discussed the symptoms with your physician and have him check the neurologic status of the lower extremity. READ MORE
ACL repair
The decision for surgery after an ACL tear depends on the degree of subjective instability, the patient's level of activity and plans for future activity. Surgery is certainly not required for an isolated ACL tear. If the patient is a competitive athlete involved in curry sports such as Soccer Basketball etc, they would most likely want the ACL reconstructed. READ MORE
